Tony (10 out of 10 ) Another brilliant performance from Tom Hanks. Kudos to him, as well as Marlon Wayans, for his humorous (if not at least slightly amusing) role in this film.
Vincent (1 out of 10 ) I haven't read the script..This movie was anything but fascinating. I don't know what i find more painfull, the fact this movie was really boring or the fact Tom Hanks actually performed in this movie...
Jim Slater (2 out of 10 )
Agreed Vince, this really was as dull as ditchwater. I haven't seen the original so I couldn't make any comparisons. But, with the exception of a couple of brief and hilarious moments of slapstick, this movie sucks to high heaven!
If I remember correctly, the funny bits were all out-takes at the end too!
Sean Reynolds (10 out of 10 ) This movie was brilliant. I have seen the original and nothing beats this movie.
John (10 out of 10 ) This movie had an excellent array of characters, great situational humor, and sophistication to top it off. It is far more than slapstick.
Mike (1 out of 10 ) Whoever the idiot is who had the idea of making a re-make of a classic Ealing comedy "The Lady Killers" needs his head examined. The original is perfection, the acting second to none, those so called actors in this re-make should sack their agents for putting them in this pile of crap. To compare this rubbish with the brilliant original is to compare the difference between Phil Silvers and Steve Martin in the movie "Bilko". Or Steve Martin and Peter Sellers as "Inspector Cleuseau". The comparison is as far apart as cream is to excrement.
Drew (10 out of 10 ) I have the original and the re-make. I like the remake it was funny and I can relate to it. Some of the commentors just couldnt relate I guess and the person who liked the orignal best must be an older gent so more power to you. I thought Tom Hanks was excellent as an admiror of Edgar Alan Poe, I thought Erma P Hall was fantastic, I liked the gospel choir, Marlon Wayans was funny as heck so was the other characters. Great movie.
